Protecting businesses from financial crimeThis interactive workshop for senior managers takes a broad view across the categories of financial crime which will impact businesses over the next 2 years. It looks at the areas where financial crime is developing and the typical way it is reported. Focussing on fraud, money laundering, and theft, especially with regard to credit management operation, and using statistics from across the EU, this session looks into the strategies a business should adopt to help prevent loss to financial crime and the consequent impact on customers and suppliers. The impact of legislation such as the 4th Money Laundering Directive, Payment Services Directive 2 and the move to online services will be discussed. Delegates will discuss methods to prevent organisations falling victim and how clients, staff and suppliers can be protected. Senior Managers will take away a high-level appreciation of the threat facing them and practical steps to help protect their organisations.

DSO – a source for sales – part IThe aim is to provide to the credit community the knowledge about how the DSO is influenced by credit, how the DSO is used to plan the working capital needed, what impacts the changes in DSO and consequently the working capital amount used by any company as part of its investment. The very interactive workshop sets out to develop analyst skills to analyze, interpret the DSO and how to communicate results to Senior Stakeholders.

Defying Gravity Through Effective Working Capital ManagementIn this presentation, I will be sharing my company’s ongoing journey toward optimizing working capital management in a fast-growing economy. The presentation will be split into two parts. Part 1: I will go over working capital concepts, challenges, and solutions. Then, I will share my company’s (Celanese Corporation) approach and will highlight achieved milestones toward optimizing its working capital management. Part 2: I will facilitate a discussion of how other companies/industries are managing Working Capital including the role Credit and Accounts Receivable professionals play in this process.
